Meet the Founder

For Leslie A. Londer, speech therapy has always been more than just a career - it's a passion. With a Master's degree in speech-language pathology from Columbia University Leslie started InSpeech, a company providing speech therapy services, in 1978. As founder and CEO of InSpeech, Inc., Leslie watched her company grow to over 350 employees with operations in 14 states. But InSpeech was not just another "speech therapy group." Carrying her passion to the next level and believing the "gift of speech is priceless", Leslie developed a model for speech service provision that revolutionized the field of contract speech therapy. In 1983, INC. Magazine recognized InSpeech as one of the top 500 privately held, fastest growing companies in the United States for 3 consecutive years. Realizing significant company growth and profitability, InSpeech was sold to NovaCare and taken public the same year on the NYSE.

Leslie is an American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Continuing her passion for the field of speech, Leslie started a scholarship program with the ASHA Foundation; "The InSpeech Student Graduate Scholarship Programs" giving deserving students an opportunity for an education. This program reflects Leslie's philosophy, that communication is the essence of life, of who we are and how we impact others. Leslie understands firsthand what it means to reach our "human potential", faced with health challenges of her own, but despite this and consistent with her philosophy she has continued to serve the community by consulting, teaching and giving motivational workshops.

Enter the New Millennium - Leslie's unbridled passion continued. In 2003, realizing her continued desire to help others speak, recognizing the need for speech therapy in the schools and consistent with a history of bringing innovation to the field of speech, Leslie began a "new" InSpeech focused on serving children in Arizona. In 5 years, InSpeech again grew quickly to nearly 60 employees serving 40 centers throughout the state. However, more was on the horizon.

The year 2000 revealed a changing world, bringing with it a global marketplace with multicultural and multilingual individuals working together. This created a dramatic need for effective communication skills. Continuing in the spirit of innovation, InSpeech wanted an opportunity to provide speech improvement programs to this new underserved sector and expanded employment for speech language pathologists.

In 2007 with the launch of Corporate Speech Services, InSpeech is again at the forefront of change offering services that will breakdown communication barriers and dramatically impact the interaction of multicultural speakers. Leslie comments: "I now have the best and the brightest walking with me as we help each other, help others, every step of the way. As I look back or forward, the picture is always the same … we get back in life what we give in life … this is what makes me so passionate about my work. To me giving the gift of speech is priceless."
